{summary}I live in NYC and I was in Syracuse for a couple of days and had the
pleasure of training at CrossFit DeWitt in East Syracuse on August 7th. I loved the
experience, the coaches were very friendly and helped me with some skills
after the WOD and everyone in the class introduced themselves and welcomed
me. I would highly recommend CrossFit DeWitt to anyone who is passing
through the region, it is sure to be a good time.

{summary}My name is Brian Kliszczewicz and I am 25 years old. I have participated in
DIII and DII NCAA lacrosse and participated in two national championships
and a final four. The last two years I have been in obtaining my Masters
Degree and have not been able to participate in organized sports. Anyone
who has played at the college level knows that the competitive edge never
really leaves and I have been itching for something. I have trained with Josh
in the past, prior to his affiliation with CrossFit. Not only did I see
tremendous results with Josh, he was the inspiration for my current field
of study (exercise physiology). When returning home I stopped in to visit Josh
and jump in a class for old times sake, not knowing what I was in store for.
CrossFit was one of the most intense workout experiences of my life… and
most enjoyable. The staff at CrossFit Dewitt can motivate you to push
beyond what you thought possible. In a few short weeks of participating in
CrossFit I managed to complete 21 rounds of Cindy (as many 5 pull ups, 10
push ups, 15, squats rounds in 20 min) and complete Angie in 14.03 (100
pull ups, 100 push ups, 100 sit ups, 100 squats) both placing on the record
board. I challenge you to come in and take a shot. There is nothing more
rewarding than knowing you gave 100%...Thanks Josh!

{summary}My name is Mike and I am a 58 year old relic. After 20 years of inactivity I
began working out at a chain gym primarily walking on a treadmill and
working out with weights on a casual basis for about a year. That was a
start, however other than feeling good that I was making an effort to
exercise I had little results to show for my effort. A good friend urged me
to try CrossFit Dewitt. I have been on blood pressure medication for five
years and was fearful strenuous exercise might be too much stress for my
heart. The people at CrossFit DeWitt were aware of my condition and their knowledge
and training helped me to gradually strengthen my heart and endurance levels.
My confidence grew and my endurance levels improved to a point that after
three months of training my Doctor took me off of my blood pressure
medication because my results have been so positive. The trainers have been
great(Josh, Austin, Joe and Tex),they help me to feel that I have
accomplished something special with each workout. Their enthusiasm makes me
want to come back each week to continue to improve my health.

{summary}I’m a 24 year old, a year out of undergrad. As a college student I didn’t
always make the healthiest of choices but I did try to make it to the gym a
few times a week. It made me feel better, but I never really saw a
difference. I graduated and about 8 months went by with no gym membership
and I felt the need to get up and do something about it. I signed up at a
chain gym, one of those that advertise in the beginning of the year for low
rates, and claim to make a huge difference in a “judge free zone”. I went
for about 2 weeks and walked around aimlessly, with no help from any
employees and not a clue what I should work on. I talked to my boyfriend
about my lack of interest in the membership that I signed up for. He told
me that he was going to find a gym for me that I would look forward to
everyday where I would see and feel a difference after the workouts. He had
mentioned CrossFit before, he and his brother go to a CrossFit in West
Hartford CT, when they are visiting home. He told me that he really
believed in the lifestyle and people in that community. He promised me that
I would like it.
He found CrossFit Dewitt on the internet and looked up a time for me to go
to a foundations class. Remember that I knew nothing more that what he had
told me about CrossFit, but I was willing to try it out!
I started in the end of January and have stuck with it ever since! I walked
in unable to do any kind of unassisted dips, pull ups, push ups or even
running without stopping.
I have accomplished a lot since then. I completed the full work out
“Murph” (1 mile run, 100 pull ups, 200 push ups, 300 squats and another
mile run) in 54 minutes. I can do the big box hops, both feet on! I can do
unassisted dips. I can run more than a mile at a good pace with no problem.
What I’m working on now is my kipping pull ups.
I went from weighing 138 to 126, body fat 20% to 12.9% and more energy than
I’ve ever had. All due to the CrossFit workout, and the Zone diet!
I love coming to this gym with these people and the best coaches. These
guys (Josh, Austin, Joe and Tex) are as dedicated to our workouts as they
are to theirs and that’s what makes the difference. I’ve never enjoyed and
looked forward to working out as much as I do now. The people here
genuinely care and want to see you push your hardest and do your best. I am
100% happy with my decision to take the chance and try out CrossFit at CrossFit DeWitt!

{summary}Having never been an athlete, I started working with Josh & Crossfit DeWitt in January of 2009 from the very bottom of the fitness ladder. As successful as it was, I was still not able to run very well. No matter how much effort I put into each run I knew I wasn’t running as well as I should despite the fact that I was able to run much longer than ever before. When Josh offered a running seminar I knew I had to attend to find out where I was going wrong. During the training we were coached on general running technique, we were videotaped and we were asked to do some basic drills. At each step along the way we were critiqued and corrected on our individual running habits. The results were amazing. After just 2 hours my stride was longer and more effective and running became much more comfortable. I knew the coaching would help, but I never thought the results would be quite so dramatic. Now, at 47 years old, I can keep up with my 15-year-old daughter! I can’t thank Josh enough!

{summary}Dominick A.K.A. Dom-A-Licious

I have been training at CrossFit Dewitt seriously since January 2010 and
the best thing I can say is that it flat out works. Every WOD (Workout of
the Day) takes less than 30min. and the results are indescribable. It blows
any other training that you can do out of the water. I had gained a ton of
weight over the past few years. I got lazy and content with being
overweight. My wedding was coming up in the summer and I refused to look
like I did for it. Josh introduced me to the Zone diet and CrossFit. With
the combination of both I have lost 43lbs to date and not lost an ounce of
strength! I’ve lost a ton of body fat and my cardio has gone through the
roof. When I came to CrossFit DeWitt I could not even do a single pull-up with a
band. Now I can complete 12 rounds of CINDY (20 min. of 5 pull-ups- 10 Push-ups- 15 air squats)
without assistance on the pull-ups. Its not just my strength that has gone up it is my
overall fitness level of my entire body. CrossFit DeWitt is the real deal. Just come in
for one class and you’ll be hooked. Everyone here is just like a family. Newcomers are
welcomed with open arms and a great willingness by everyone to help you get better.
I can’t thank everyone I workout with on a daily basis enough. Just come to CrossFit Dewitt
and see it for yourself. I dare you to make your best better…....

{summary}Crossfit Dewitt’s unique training methods and extremely short and concise workouts helped re-motivate myself to workout. The Crossfit Dewitt community is like no other gym you will join, from Day One the coaches and fellow Crossfitters embrace you and help motivate you to work hard everyday. Every Crossfit workout can be configured to each individuals own capabilities. There are people at the gym of all ages and experience levels, so while it may look extremely difficult (which it is) anybody can do it if they push themselves. The best part of Crossfit Dewitt is the hands on coaching (personal training) you receive daily. The coaches are extremely knowledgeable and can configure the workouts for you on the spot. Additionally, the coaches will spend extra time with you to work on everything from your form and technique to developing specific diet catered to how you are trying to transform your body. After spending only one month at Crossfit Dewitt I recommend Crossfit Dewitt to anyone, and will look to continue my training at another Crossfit gym in New Jersey.
